Poetry Manuscript Consultations:
Because I am a university professor 9 months out of the year, I only work in the summer with a limited number of poets. If you'd like to work with me, email me directly at certo@msu.edu. I work with both beginning/emerging and advanced/established poets (sliding pay scale) to give feedback on their poetry submissions to journals, as well as poetry chapbooks and full-length collections to submit to presses and prizes. Let me know your budget, and I will try to create an arrangement that works for both of us.
Editing Rates (sliding scale)
Poem critique: Per poem/page: $25-$45
Mentoring: In-person (if local) or Zoom consultation: $70-100 an hour
Chapbook-length work*: $600-850
Full-length collection*: $2,000-3,500
*Chapbook and full-length manuscripts include critique of order and individual poems, a line-by-line edit, proofreading, suggestions on additional writing to be done, brief cover letters, and where to submit your manuscript.
